This new home being built in Woodbury will produce all the energy it needs and it will do that for generations to come. These “Net Zero” homes are designed and built differently to achieve this remarkable energy performance. You are invited to join us for a mid construction showcase of the features in this home that make this possible and to hear the story behind the design.

How does a heat pump keep a building warm when the outdoor air is really cold? A lot of people don’t trust that a heat pump could keep their house warm in the winter. It’s a really fair concern because pulling heat from cold outdoor air isn’t a natural process. So how does a heat pump do that? In this short video from John Siegenthaler's free course on Heat Pumps he explains how this works. Heat pumps are essential to our mission of eliminating fossil fuels in providing comfort in our homes.

The dream of owning a home has become more elusive than ever. Over the past decade, U.S. house prices have increased by nearly 4.7% per year above the rate of inflation while the median household income in the U.S. has only grown by 1.5% per year (above inflation) over the same time period. Coupled with the highest mortgage rates since 2008, we might be in one of the most unaffordable housing markets ever. Given this rapid increase in home prices, it raises the question: “Why are houses so expensive?”
